Late June, the garden progresses, and the meadows and peonies are at their best.

 

This is one of the most beautiful times of the year at the Maine Audubon Sanctuary.  The meadows are all a riot of yellows and whites and greens and the peony gardens are in full bloom.  And our weather has been about as ideal as weather comes: mid-seventies, sunny, low humidity during the days and low 50s at night.  It doesn't get much better than this.
